Tuscany – This is where Artemis began it’s first official tour. Stepping off in Florence where we meet, the main focus of this tour is the central and southern parts of Tuscany. We travel to Siena, San Gimignano, Bolgheri (nearer the coast), Monteplulciano and the famous Montalcino. Along the way we pass through Pienza, Val d’Orcia and numerous other stunning locations. It’s easy to see how much the wine and food are in harmony here. This trip is about discovering the intricacies of culture, art, architecture, history as well as the people that make up the fabric of this stunning Province.

Come join us for our adventure. Leave your details below and immerse yourself in this world for a week.

Trip details

This is our origin tour, where it all began. Join us for a week travelling across some of the most famous wine regions, including Montalcino, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Radda in Chianti, Chianti Classico and Orcia.

This week is about about opening up your palates to as many different style of wine made in this region including, Verdicchio, Vermentino, Biano (blends), Sparkling Sangiovese (made in the Traditional method), and every gamut of red wine mainly from the Sangiovese grape variety (e.g. Brunello, Chianti, Nobile), however, we include varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and other Bordeaux blends and we definitely get into the older more vintage category as well. Did we mention juicy, savoury Rosé’s as well?

The food is outrageously good and has perfect synergy with the wine. Expect lots of truffle, hand-made pasta, chargrilled steak or Bistecca, buffalo mozzarella, pecorino and some of the lightest, freshest desserts that you can’t say no to. Those of you that can join, will surely experience something new.

Trip schedule

A total of 7 days worth of activities, we do allocate enough personal time for you to enjoy things on your own for a bit. Have a look below for all the experiences we get up to. This is a sample itinerary and this can change at the tour director’s discretion.

We visit the Medici Family Gardens in the morning, head to a renowned Chianti winery for lunch then we dine locally in Siena.

After waking up in your Tuscan villa and having some continental breakfast served, we head to San Gimignano for a historic walking tour.  This has become on of the highlights of the tour as it unlocks the stories behind the architecture, art, food and people. Vernaccia di San Gimignano is the first and only DOCG white wine in Tuscany. Characterised by it's citrus and almond notes, the locals use it in their Gelato as well.

Free time on the afternoon.

A visit to an incredible hotel for alfresco dining and some live music.

We visit a remarkable natural and organic winery in Montepulciano. Being sustainable and having a farm to table approach, the food served at their restaurant highlights some of the locals foods. They make their own Carbonara from (Paolo) Parisi eggs and goose liver, their own bread and the Cheesecake dessert with fruit coulis is served with their 'Giallo Oro' wine.

We walk off this experience in the local town before heading back to our villa.

Dinner is served at the villa with our very own private chef. Wines are paired by Kyri from local prodcuers.

This is another special day. We visit a boutique and high-end winery in little known commune of 'Orcia' during the day.

After some scenic driving we arrive in the hilly village of Montalcino that has some breathtaking views over this world famous wine region. Our hosts will serve a selection of the best Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino to unlock this gem of an area. We may even finish off with some Grappa.

We rise early to get to Siena whilst it is still cool in the morning and meet our excellent guide that takes us through this beautiful town. This has been one of the highlights for many of our guests as this unlocks the rich history for them and shows what life used to be like.

The afternoon is all yours.

In the evening we have a private dinner at fantastic courtyard restaurant. We have it all to ourselves.

On this day, we show what can be done when 26 generations of winemaking family come together o build a dream. The winery is unlike any other you have seen nor experiences and it was voted the Best Vineyard & Winery in the World in 2022.

We have lunch on the rooftop afterwards and marvel at our surroundings.

In the afternoon, we relax either by the pool, or inside the cool villa. Afternoon siesta's are common.

In the evening we drive about 30 minutes away to historic abbey that was converted by a couple into a family friendly, open-air restaurant.

One of the longest drives on the trip is destined for a region that closer to the coast - Bolgheri. Here lies, possibly one of the most reverent and beautiful estates in all of Tuscany, Ornellaia. There's a reason why many of guests had this down as their favourite experience. Join us to see why...

More relaxation in the afternoon and our finale dinner that's always a surprise.

We all head back to a Hotel close to the Santa Maria Novella and say farewell after the week of activities.

Any of you that have onwards travel, can do so from the local Santa Maria Novella Train station that connects to other major cities like Rome or Milan.

There is also a shuttle that heads straight to the airport and takes no more than 15-20 minutes.
